Programmes

Standalone skills that sit alongside school rather than inside it — chosen because they compound, not because they are examined.

A programme is something a parent chooses deliberately. No school term requires it, no report card records it, and nobody is examined on it next month. That absence of a deadline changes what good practice looks like.

Without an exam, the honest measure is whether the child is visibly better than they were — and that is difficult to see from the inside. A child who has become fluent at mental arithmetic does not notice the change; they simply stop finding it hard. So the reporting matters more here than anywhere else on Sophoz. The weekly note is what makes months of small gains legible to the person paying for them.

Programmes also tend to be the place where confidence is actually built. A child who is middling at school mathematics can be genuinely fast at mental calculation, and a child who dreads being asked a question in class can learn to hold a room for ninety seconds. Those are not small things, and they rarely show up in a school assessment.

What Sophoz does not do is turn a programme into a syllabus with a certificate at the end. The skill is the point. Each programme below explains what it covers, how long it usually takes to see a difference, and which children get the most out of it.
